A tree with leathery wedge shaped to oblong leaves that are dark green above and grey underneathside and erect lime green to yellow cylindrical flowers in spring and winter followed by ornamental woody seed cones that typically grows to fifteen metres tall. This tree is highly tolerant of full coastal conditions and can be used for soil stabilisation, it is useful as a screen or shade tree and should be planted to allow for future growth. It requires well-drained soils, full sun, tolerates drought and attracts native birds and insects for food source and habitat.
